Maddie and Spencer

There are two new arrivals in Summer Bay, Maddie and Spencer who originally told people they were brother and sister but are secretly a couple who have run away from their parents, after being denied of seeing each other.

The couple are very much in love, Maddie played by Kassandra Clementi and Spencer played by Andrew J Morley.  At first they denied help from Roo (a runaway in her younger years) but after Maddie fell sick they had no choice but to go to Roo for help.  Afterwards they ran away again only to return to find somewhere to sleep.  Upon their return they come accross Romeo who was locked in a shed in the caravan park by Jett so he could have Indi.  Romeo had fallen whilst trying to escape and suffered with a concussion and bleeding head.  Maddie and Spencer helped save Romeo by going to get help from the Stewart household.

After saving Romeo, they finally accepted help from Roo who also eventurally discovered the truth about them being very much in love.  All seemed to be going well, they were earning money and settling in to the bay until Maddie fell sick.  After being rushed to hospital by Harvey and Roo they discovered she had meningistis.

Despite Roo being against calling Maddie's parents and informing the police that they knew the whereabouts of her, Harvey called the police anyway, much to the disgrace of both Roo and Maddie.  Spencer however although he loves Maddie agreed that maybe it was time her parents found out, but after talking to Maddie and her conversation on the phone with her mum telling her not to come to Summer Bay after her Spencer came around.

After overhearing the conversation between the two lovers, Alf's sister Celia left them the money she had won that day by gambling.  Could there finally be hope for the two runaways to make a fresh start in the Bay?...
